Mill Street church hosting breakfast for vets

The Mill Street Church of Christ will host a breakfast to honor local veterans on Sunday in the church’s fellowship room. Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. Veterans, active military, families, etc., are encouraged to attend.

“Bouvier Blunder” book signing on Saturday

A book signing for the “Bouvier Blunder” will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Barry County Museum, featuring authors Jon Horner and Kerry Hays. Horner’s newest adventure, the “Bouvier Blunder,” written in collaboration with Hays, details the twists and turns encountered by Chad McMasters as he walks a fine line working for a shady U.S. Congressman rumored to be considered for a higher office. From the beautiful landscapes of his beloved Ozarks to the pristine beaches of the Florida panhandle, Chad is aided in his struggle by a variety of seemingly dissimilar characters as his situation becomes increasingly impossible to navigate. Capps Creek meeting Tuesday

The Capps Creek Special Road District will meet in regular session on Tuesday at noon at the home of Garry and Pam Bartkoski, located at 5086 Farm Road 2057 in Monett. The public is welcome to attend.

Cruisers hosting final Cruise-In of year

The Cassville Cruisers car club will host its final Cruise-In of the year on Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Barry County Museum. Admission is free, and Boy Scouts will offer concessions. Many of the area’s classic cars will be on display. The Cruisers’ monthly meeting for November is on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Show-Me Plaza.

Collector mails annual tax statements

Skyler Bowman, Barry County collector, announced this week that the 2022 Tax Statements were mailed to Barry County taxpayers on Nov. 1. Anyone that does not receive a statement by Nov. 15 should call the collector’s office at 417847-2113 to inquire about one. The 2022 taxes become delinquent on Jan. 1, 2023. Payment can be made in person at the collector’s office with cash, check, debit or credit card. When paying with a debit or credit card the provider of this service will be charging a fee. Also, payment can be made on-line at barrycountycollector. com and a fee will be applied when paying in this matter.

SKITS showing ‘Murder in The House of Horrors’

A comedic, murder mystery, a classic who dunnit of thoroughly entertaining proportions takes center stage in the upcoming SKITS community theater production of “Murder in The House of Horrors.” The audience is invited into the museums lecture on famous Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaura’s tomb, which is laden with priceless treasures, but shrouded in mystery as a most coveted jewel is stolen and an unlikely murder is committed. This audience interaction murder mystery will have everyone fully engaged trying to guess who did this outrageous deed and why? A total of 15 actors, with some added extras, and an assembly of stage-builders, artists, sound and lighting personnel, line-readers, marketing folks and well, of course, a dedicated and inspiring director are again making this another fun and entertaining production.
