Final Cruise-In set for Nov. 12

The Cassville Cruisers car club will host its final Cruise-In of the year on Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Barry County Museum. Admission is free, and Boy Scouts will offer concessions. Many of the area’s classic cars will be on display. The Cruisers’ monthly meeting for November is on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Show-Me Plaza.

Corsicana Road District meeting

The Corsicana Road District will meet in regular session on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the home of Garry and Pam Bartkoski, located at 5086 Farm Road 2057 in Monett. The public is welcome to attend.

Waste management district to meet

The Southwest Missouri Waste Management District N will hold its monthly Executive Board Meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday at Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett. This meeting/conference call is open to the public. A teleconference number will be available for this meeting. People may contact the district office at 417-236-9012 or 417-342-6306 prior to the day of the meeting for the call-in number and passcode.

Collector mails annual tax statements

Skyler Bowman, Barry County collector, announced this week that the 2022 Tax Statements were mailed to Barry County taxpayers on Nov. 1. Anyone that does not receive a statement by Nov. 15 should call the collector’s office at 417-847-2113 to inquire about one. The 2022 taxes become delinquent on Jan. 1, 2023. Payment can be made in person at the collector’s office with cash, check, debit or credit card. When paying with a debit or credit card the provider of this service will be charging a fee. Also, payment can be made on-line at barrycountycollector. com and a fee will be applied when paying in this matter.

Farm Road 2040 bridge closed for repair

The Capps Creek Road District bridge on Farm Road 2040, west of the Polanski Catholic Church, will be closed for repairs until further notice.

Craft Fair coming to Cassville

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will host its inaugural Holiday Season Craft Fair on Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bayless/ Salyer House in Cassville. People may reserve a table for $25 for the day, and the house will be decorated for the holiday season. For more information or to reserve a table, people may call 417-825-9676 or 417-846-6110.

Absentee voting ongoing

Absentee voting for the Nov. 8 General Election runs through Nov. 7 at the Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two weeks of in-person, no-excuse absentee voting begin Oct. 25. If unable to vote in person, a voter may send a written request to the office of: Joyce Ennis, 700 Main St. Suite 2, Cassville, MO, 65625; or fax to: 417-847-5311. The Office will need: Voter’s name, physical address, mailing address, date of birth, last four digits of Social Security number, phone number, reason for voting absentee and signature. Those who live in the Shell Knob or Monett areas can go to the Shell Knob Chamber or Monett Chamber and fill out the absentee application, and they will fax it to the Barry County Clerk’s office. Absentee applications are also available at sos.mo.gov. Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417662-3612.
