Monett Chamber hosts golf tourney

Annual event draws 27 teams

The Monett Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual golf tournament on Sept. 11 at the Windmill Ridge municipal golf course.

The tournament is a benefit for the Chamber, the Chamber Foundation, and the Young Professionals Network. A total of 27 teams participated, putting 108 golfers on the course.
Among the special awards, Brandon Harter from the WinTech team sank a 25-foot putt to win the putting contest. Joe Osborn hit the ball closest to pin No. 16. Hunter Hatfield had the longest drive.
In team competition, the squad from Roberts Family Eye Care won A Flight with a score of 51.
The 19th Hole Golf Studio took second with a score of 55, and Discount Auto Glass placed third with a 56. The Roberts team donated its winnings back to the Chamber.
In B flight, the Jack Henry team took home top honors. Bulldog 79 placed second. Both had scores of 60. In C Flight, Freedom Bank was first and WinTech second, both with a score of 65.
