Go the extra yard for local patients
Give blood, score a free Chiefs T-shirt
Football season is in full swing, and community members can go the extra yard for local patients by donating at the upcoming Monett Community blood drive on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets and plasma to patients at more than 40 area hospitals, is teaming up with the Kansas City Chiefs to encourage fans to make an impact beyond the football field.
All successful donors will receive a long-sleeve Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt, while supplies last. Donors will be automatically entered for a chance to win a tailgate prize package valued at more than $1,400, featuring a $250 Walmart gift card, YETI cooler, Blackstone tabletop grill and Chiefs swag.
Blood donations collected through CBCO help provide the blood products needed by patients at Cox Monett Hospital, as well as over 40 other hospitals throughout the Ozarks. Monett area residents can donate at:
Monett Community Blood Drive
Monett Area YMCA – Event Center
115 S. Lincoln Ave, Monett
Tuesday, November 10 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Every blood donation is an opportunity to step up for someone in our community who may need a transfusion,” said Michelle Teter, Media Relations Representative at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. “The Chiefs promotion gives donors a fun way to go the extra yard this season, but the real impact is knowing your donation could be there when a local patient needs it. We hope football fans and community members will join us and make an important play for local patients.”
To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment at www.cbco.org/chiefs or by calling 417-227-5006.
Photo identification is required. Donors should eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
“On behalf of local hospital patients, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community,” a press release said.
