Allyson Vanderpool, granddaughter of Teresa and Kevin Lucas, Monett, recently returned from serving 18 months in the California Arcadia Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Vanderpool graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School in 2021, where she participated in choir. After she graduated, she and her grandparents moved to Monett for better work opportunities. Allyson loves to read and crochet. She plans on attending Brigham Young University – Idaho Campus, where she will major in Special Education. When asked how she came closer to Jesus Christ on her mission, Vanderpool said, “I was able to lean on Jesus Christ rather than on the world.” Contributed photo
