Porter Reed, Monett, son of Jim and Mary Reed, will be serving for two years in the Philippines Tacloban Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, beginning in August. Reed graduated from Monett High School in 2025, where he participated in football, wrestling and powerlifting. Speaking to the Monett Young Single Adult Branch, Reed was happy to be there. He had just moved back into his home from Springfield, where he had been on his own for a year. Being on his own taught Reed to value his home and the teachings of his parents. He was looking forward to serving a mission because, “Everything Heavenly Father does is out of love.” Contributed photo
