Relief Society Birthday Celebration

On March 8, International Women’s Day, 50 women gathered at the Monett Missouri Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to celebrate the birthday of the global women’s Relief Society, founded in March 1842, to give relief to those in need. They were from the Monett Ward Relief Society, the Pierce City Ward Relief Society, and the Monett Young Single Adult Branch Relief Society. The women enjoyed dinner, a game, and a broadcast from the General Relief Society Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ, who spoke about the love and support that women receive from Jesus Christ. Camille N. Johnson, the Relief Society General President of the over 8 million members, said, “You can do hard with Jesus, or you can do hard alone. That is your choice. But when you do hard with Jesus Christ, the hard becomes holy. You become holy women.” Contributed photos
