First on Front this Friday
The second First on Front concert for the year will be held on Friday, June 6, from 6-9 p.m. at the pavilion on Front Street. The event is free to attend, presented by First State Bank, and will feature live, local music and food trucks.
Art Market in Monett this weekend
A new event, Art Market on Broadway with Tina Arnall and Becky Golubski, will be held on Friday, June 7, from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Monett Historical Society, located at 422 Broadway in Monett. Visitors may shop original art, prints, mugs and more; enjoy light refreshments; and enter for a grand giveaway. A portion of sales will benefit the Museum. Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary to host Annual Salad Luncheon
The Cox Monett Auxiliary Salad Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the First United Methodist Church in Monett, located at 1600 N. Central Ave. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample more than 40 homemade salads, and recipe books featuring all the salads served will be sold for only $5. To-go boxes will be available. “This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Auxiliary, and we’re always grateful for the community’s support,” said Angela Long, coordinator of volunteer services at Cox Monett. “With a large variety of salads to choose from, there’s something for everyone, and every bite helps to support Cox Monett Hospital in meaningful ways.” Admission to the luncheon is $15 per person. Tickets can be purchased from a volunteer or at the door on the day of the event. Additionally, there will be a pop-up gift shop as part of this annual fundraiser. Annual Monett Fly-In on Saturday
The Annual Monett Fly-In will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Monett Regional Airport, located at 1215 Hwy. 97 in Pierce City. Black Moods playing at VFW
The Black Moods, a Wheaton-based band, will play for lead singer Josh Kennedy’s birthday at the Monett VFW Post 4207, located at 5400 U.S. Hwy. 60, on Saturday, June 7. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge, and tickets may be purchased online or at the door. The event is for ages 21 and older. The VFW kitchen will be open from 5-10 p.m., serving a variety of bar foods like chicken wings, potato skins, fried pickles, loaded fries and more.
Resource Fair at Monett Nazarene Church
The Monett Nazarene Church, located at 2142 Hwy. 37 in Monett, will host a Community Day – Resource Fair on Thursday, June 12 from 5-7 p.m. The event is every second Thursday through the summer: June 12, July 10 and Aug. 14. It features free childcare, free dinner, free legal consultation, free disability consultation and free resources. Poker Run set for June 21
The Monett VFW Post 4207 will host its 11th Annual Poker Run on Saturday, June 21, beginning at 8 a.m. Check-in for riders and drivers is at 8 a.m., with the Run beginning at 10 a.m. and participants returning by 4 p.m. The route includes five stops: Rowdy Beaver in Eureka Springs, Ark.; Cat House in Eureka Springs, Ark.; Pirate Sand Bar in Eagle Rock; Sycho Flats in Granby; and the Monett VFW. Cost is $15 per person or $30 per couple. T-shirts are also available for purchase, and there will be a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and door prizes. New Site VBS June 23-26
New Site Baptist Church, located at 1925 Farm Road 1060 in Monett, will host the “Jungle Trek Kids VBS” from June 23-26. The vacation Bible school is 6-7:30 p.m. nightly for youth between the age of 3 and entering fifth grade. Parents may register their children online at www.newsitechurch.org/vbs.
Business After Hours on June 26
The Monett Area Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours – Bingo at Briar House on Thursday, June 26, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Briar House Brewing, located at 222 E. Broadway St. in Monett. Entry is $10, and Bingo will be played outside on the patio. Acambaro will present a taco bar and Bingo prizes from local businesses include gift cards, gift baskets and more. Waldensian 150th Anniversary Celebration June 27-29
The Waldensian Presbyterian Church will host its 150th Anniversary Celebration from June 27-28. On Friday,, June 27, there will be an ice cream social from 5-8 p.m. On Saturday, June 28, the church opens for fellowship and displays from 1-5 p.m., followed by a meal. Monett Senior Center hosting potluck, dance
The Monett Senior Center will host Kustom Deuluxe Band for a Potluck & Dance event on Tuesday, June 17, from 7-9 p.m. All are welcome, and the entry fee is $5. The Center is located at 405 Dairy Street.
