Hunt for a Cause a hit in Monett
The Monett Fire Department’s Hunt for a Cause benefit fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks raised at least $7,000 to help support local efforts fighting breast cancer in a first-of-its-kind event in Monett on Sept. 13.

Summer fun at Monett’s Repurposed Faire
Former Monettans Vikki Branum and Susana Branum, now Kansas City residents, came to Monett’s Repurposed Faire with their mother-daughter business started seven years ago, offering pumpkins repurposed from old sweaters, mini-books composed of scanned old-time photos, and other novelties. Looking over offerings at their booth were, from left, Marissa Cahalan, Rilynn Cahalan, Royer Cahalan, all of Pierce City, and Rhonda Bounous, of Monett.
Schools dealt funding blow
The Monett school district will commit more local money to title program salary benefits this year following a cut in federal funding.
