Cultural appreciation event coming to pavilion

The Drury GO – Monett Campus will host Culture and Community: Monett, MO, on Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Monett Downtown Pavilion. The event will feature art, dance, traditional dress, food and music highlighting various cultures of Monett residents. There will also be multiple food trucks. The city of Monett and Monett Area Chamber of Commerce are also event hosts.

FFA Chili Supper upcoming

The Monett FFA Chili Supper will be held on Oct. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Scott Regional Technology Center, located at 2 David Sippy Drive in Monett. The event will include a chili supper, entertainment and silent auction, with a live auction beginning at 7 p.m.

Trivia Night benefits Fuller Center

A Trivia Night will be held on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at 405 7th St. in Monett. Proceeds benefit the Monett Area Fuller Center for Housing. For more information, people may visit the event page on Facebook at https://tinyurl.com/2dw8c95h.

Monett Historical Society to meet

The monthly Monett Historical Society member meeting will be held on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Monett Museum Event Center. The guest speaker is Mark Drake, superintendent of Monett schools. 

Senior Center Dance and potluck on Oct. 21

The Monett Senior Center, located at 405 Dairy St., will host a Dance and potluck on Oct. 21 from 7-9 p.m. Kustom Deluxe Band will perform, and there will be snacks and a 50/50 raffle. All ages are welcome.

Halloween Costume Party scheduled at VFW

The VFW Post No. 4207 Tom Wolfe Memorial will host a Halloween Costume Party on Oct. 24 starting at 8 p.m. There will be a live DJ from 8 p.m. to midnight, cash prizes for first, second and third place in the costume contest, as well as drink and beer specials and the kitchen open from 5-10 p.m. 

YMCA Trunk or Treat scheduled

The Monett Area YMCA, located at 115 S. Lincoln Ave., will host the Monett Trunk or Treat from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 25. Local businesses and volunteers will decorate their trunks and hand out candy. Costumes are encouraged for all ages, and the event is free and open to the community.

Methodist Church hosting Chili Supper

Liberty United Methodist Church of Monett will host its Annual Chili Supper on Oct. 25 from 4:30-8 p.m., in the Church Fellowship Hall. Serving will include chili or beef stew, pie or cake, and water, tea or coffee, all for $10 for adults or $5 for children. The church is located at Farm Roads 1090 and 2210 or three miles north of the Monett Price Cutter.

Harvesting Hope In The City set for Oct. 25

A new community event, Harvesting Hope In The City, will be held on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Monett Downtown Pavilion. The event, for the Monett community and surrounding areas, aims to bring church to the streets. There will be multiple organizations on hand offering a variety of resources to help those in need. There will be a word of encouragement/devotional/sermon, testimonies, live worship music and children’s activities. Plans include serving hotdogs, chips, water and, with free cups to raffle off and free Bibles being distributed.

Fall Festival at VFW

The VFW Post No. 4207 Tom Wolfe Memorial will host the 2nd Annual Fall Festival from 12-4 p.m. on Oct. 26. The free community event will offer a petting zoo, wagon rides, bounce houses, laser tag, face painting, vendors and more. For questions, people may call 417-235-8394.

Jeep-O-Treat coming to Broadway

A local Jeep enthusiasts group will host a Jeep-O-Treat trunk or treat event on Broadway in downtown Monett from 4-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Lacoba opens doors to trick or treaters

Lacoba Homes, located on Highway 60 East in Monett, will host a Trick or Treat event from 5:30-7 p.m. on Oct. 31. Trick or Treaters are invited to visit residents and staff, and drinks and snacks will be provided…
