The roof of the Sunday school annex at Waymark Church on the south side of Monett sustained significant damage on April 29 after high winds and rain moved through the Monett area. The National Weather Service noted seven thunderstorm wind damage reports in the Monett area from Highway 97 south of the airport to Highway H just south of Freistatt. An EF-1 tornado was also confirmed near Highway 60 between Verona and Aurora. The tornado was 100 yards wide and traveled 2.18 miles with wind speeds of 90 miles per hour.
