Robert V. “Bob” Scott

Robert V. “Bob” Scott, 91, of Seligman, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora.

He was born on March 14, 1930, in Mantee, Miss., the son of Lonnie D. and Zona (Dura) Scott. On March 15, 1953, in Oak Grove, Mo., he was united in marriage to Betty Dewitt, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings.

Survivors include: three daughters, Dr. Shari Thompson of Marshall, Regina Scott of Columbia, and Johnna Beitler of Springfield; one brother, Harold Scott and his wife Charlotte of Meridian, Miss.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Cumberland High School in Webster County, Miss. After high school, he attended Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., and was awarded a degree. He was in the Ministry for 61 years, the majority of which was spent ministering in Southern Barry County. After his retirement as pastor of Seligman First Baptist Church, he attended Victory Baptist Church in Cassville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Randy Comer will conduct the services. Burial will be at King Cemetery in Seligman. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
