Juanita Chloe Weathers
Juanita Chloe Weathers, 88, Washburn, passed away Thursday, Oct.14, 2021, at her home in Washburn.
She was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Stotts City, the daughter of Samuel D. and Lydia Beatrice (Johnson) Porter. On Feb. 3, 1950, in Bentonville, Ark., she was united in marriage to Charles Weathers, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2017. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ray Porter, Carl Porter and James Porter.
Survivors include: two sons, Sam Leon Weathers and his wife Charlotte of St. Robert, and Johnny Newman Weathers and his wife Kathy of Washburn; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandaughter; two brothers, Jack Porter and Charles Porter and and four sisters, Dorothy Webb, Marilyn Lawrence, Margaret Rose and Vicki Holland.
She attended Pasley and Washburn schools. She was saved at the age of 14 at Corinth Baptist Church, was a charter member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 67 years. She worked for American News Company in Wichita, Kan., for 12 years, Barry County Lumber in Cassville for 10 years, Johnís Country Store in Washburn for 10 years and OACAC in Cassville for 12 years from where she retired.
Visitation was held from Monday, Oct. 18, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
