Homecoming parade scheduled
Downtown to high school route planned on Oct. 1
A Homecoming parade will be held in Cassville on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m., starting downtown and ending at Cassville High School.
The parade is being hosted by Cassville High School Student Council, and the theme is “Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.”
Parade participants will line up will be on 6th Street beginning at the Chamber of Commerce. Floats will turn left onto Main St. and travel to the school campus, turn right onto 14th Street (Kid Kat Drive), travel in front of Eunice Thomas Elementary, turn left at the field house onto the paved bus lane to the high school.
The Parade will end at the high school at approximately 2 p.m.
Businesses, community members and parents are invited and welcome to view the parade on Main Street between 6th Street and 14th Street. The parade route from 14th Street on to the High School campus will be reserved for Cassville staff and students only.
The Cassville school district is working in collaboration with the Cassville Police Department to ensure the safety of students who are participating in and viewing the parade.
The parade timing in the afternoon will cause traffic slowdowns and alternate routes for travelers who traditionally take Main Street from 1-2 p.m.
In the event that Oct. 1 has less than ideal weather conditions (rain, thunderstorms, snow) the parade will be canceled.
