Washburn man flown from McDonald County wreck
Vehicle goes off roadway, hits tree north of Powell
A Washburn man was arrested after being injured on Thursday in a wreck at 4:52 p.m. on Kings Road, one mile north of Powell in McDonald County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jerrell Edwards, 64, of Washburn, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Edwards suffered serious injuries and was transported by Life Flight to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
At 5:35 p.m., Edwards was arrested by the Patrol for felony possession of methamphetamine (2 grams), misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (4 grams of marijuana) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released for medical care.
