City partners with Element 79 Media Group
Cassville aims to boost marketing efforts, local tourism
The city of Cassville has announced a new partnership with Element 79 Media Group, aimed at boosting economic and tourism development.
Element 79 is a new media agency in Cassville, managed by former Cassville Chamber Director, Rachael Freeman.
“Rachael proved she had a heart for Cassville during her time at the Chamber of Commerce,” said Steve Walensky, city administrator. “She was instrumental in our inaugural TroutFest, even getting the attention of Bass Pro Shops as a sponsor. She orchestrated the fundraising of over $25,000 to go toward the new fish cleaning station at Roaring River State Park. In 2019, she was named as Cassville Schools Friend of Education. Rachael works hard for the good of our community.”
Element 79 will bring a wide range of talent to the city’s economic development strategies, marketing efforts and local tourism.
“Economic development and tourism are interrelated,” Walensky said. “We want to cover as many aspects of economic development as we can. We believe Element 79 can do that. Economic development not only includes jobs, but retention. We want people to want to work here and play here. We want to see them eat here and shop here.
“If there’s one thing the COVID-19 pandemic taught us, it’s how fortunate we are to live so close to Roaring River State Park. We realized that, and so did the other 1.3 million visitors who traveled through the park last year. We want to continue to work on getting those visitors ‘up-the-hill’ to Cassville.”
Freeman said Element 79 Media Group was created to help businesses with their development and marketing needs.
“We want to solve problems, create a vision and help bring that vision to life,” she said. “Our team will be able to help market Cassville at a whole new level. From economic development, planning, grant writing, website development, technology integration, graphic design, photography, videography and networking with stakeholders locally and across the region.
“We are excited about this new partnership and are looking forward to promoting Cassville.”
Walensky said Element 79 is a local group that believes in Cassville.
“Their team is Cassville,” he said. “Rachael is a 2005 graduate of Cassville High School, moved away for college and has brought her talents back. Their marketing analyst is a 2001 graduate of Cassville High School. After graduation, he joined the Marines and became a United States Marine Staff Sergeant, serving our country on three tours to Iraq and Afghanistan as Force Recon and Special Operations Marine. Now that he is out of the service, he’s come back to Cassville.
“Their marketing assistant is a 2020 graduate of Cassville. She realized Cassville was home and she was ready to join the workforce in her hometown. This is going to be a dynamic partnership.”
Isaac Petersen, Cassville’s former economic director, took over the City’s financial responsibilities in June 2020 when the City Finance Officer position came available.
“Isaac has stepped into that role for us at the City,” Walensky said. “His primary focus will be the financial aspect of the city’s funds. All economic development questions, ideas and inquiries can now be directed to myself or Rachael.”
