Cemetery meetings to be held Sunday

The Ennis Cemetery annual meeting will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. All interested persons are welcome to attend. The Leann Cemetery annual meeting will also be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. Absentee voting underway

If anyone has mobility issues, like walking or standing in lines, they may stop by the county clerk’s office and vote absentee. The Barry County Clerk’s Office will be open May 30 for absentee voting for the Special Election from 9 a.m. to noon. Absentee voting in person continues through June 1 at the Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Voters must must present one form of identification to vote, such as a driver’s license or voter registration card. 2 polling places change

For the June 2 Municipal Election, and future elections, Purdy voters will vote at the new Purdy City Hall, located at 401 E. State Hwy. C, Purdy, MO 65734. Capps Creek and Monett Rural voters will vote at the New Site Baptist Church, located at 1925 Farm Road 1060, Monett, MO 65708. Voter tabulation equipment to be tested

Barry County Clerk Jill H. LeCompte reports a public pre-election tabulation test of the electronic tabulating equipment, for the June 2 Municipal Election, will be held at 9 a.m. on May 29 in the County Clerk’s Office.

Lawrence and Barry County Democrats set meeting

The Lawrence and Barry County Democrats will renew monthly meetings, with the May meeting set for May 28 at the Angus Branch Steakhouse, located at 114 Chapel Dr. in Monett. The meeting will start at 7 p.m., and those who wish to eat must pay for their own meals and arrive at 5:45 p.m. The guest speaker will be Sean Nicholson, with Clean Missouri. Nicholson was a leader in the 2018 ballot initiative that passed with 62 percent in favor. The state legislature has now passed SJR38 to try and overturn the measure by putting it on the ballot again this year, according to a release from the Lawrence and Barry County Democrats. Life 360 distribution in Exeter moving

Life 360 has moved its food distribution in Exeter from the school parking lot to the parking lot at the First Baptist Church in Exeter, located at 102 Cass St. The distribution time remains the same, each Friday from 11 a.m. to noon. The line will start on the east end of the church and head west to the parking lot, where the van will be set up.

Seligman dances canceled

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are canceled until further notice. People may call 417-662-3612 for more information.

Alumni Banquet canceled
