Drug Take Back scheduled in Cassville
The Cassville Police Department is again participating in the D.E.A. Prescription Take Back Day.
This will be held Oct. 26 between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The address to drop off the medication is 300 Main St. at the Cassville City Hall/Cassville Police Department building. The entrance will be in the back of the building using the Council Chamber door.
The Prescription Take Back Day is to help people to properly dispose of unused medications. Proper disposal of medication helps to protect the environment and keeps the medicine from being flushed into water systems. This also helps keep the medication out of the hands of people who do not have a prescription or need for the medication, but want to use it for recreational use only.
We want to encourage people to take the time to clean out their medicine draws/cabinets and properly dispose of their unused medicine, said Dana Kammerlohr, Cassville police chief. We also accept over-the-counter medications.
Inhalers, illegal drugs or sharp objects (i.e.syringes/needles) will not be accepted. No medications can be accepted from medical clinics, pharmacies or veterinary clinics.
