Bernard “Tom” O’Neill Jr.
Bernard “Tom” O’Neill Jr., 74, of Exeter, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Sept. 17, 1944 in Lynwood, Calif., the son of Bernard T. O’Neill Sr. and Lilly (Davis) O’Neill. On Aug. 19, 1966, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Anna Hopkins, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Eric O’Neill and his wife Donna of Exeter, Travis O’Neill and his wife Janet of Garfield, Ark., and Jason “Jake” O’Neill and his wife Jennifer of Cassville; one daughter, Stacy Blisard and her husband Matt of Jenkins; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Jim O’Neill and one sister, Patsy O’Neill-Higgs.
He grew up and received his education in Exeter, where he graduated from Exeter High School in 1962. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy, serving until 1966. For 38 years, he worked at Wendt-Sonis in Rogers, Ark., as a Manufacturing Supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Cassville Golf Course Association.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Tony Ball and Pastor Danny Heupel conducted the services. Burial with military honors was at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter.
