Cape Fair woman dies in wreck
Vehicle overturns west of Jenkins
A Cape Fair woman died Wednesday in a wreck at 5:50 p.m. on Highway 248, 2.5 miles west of Jenkins.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Roberta Marcum, 52, of Cape Fair, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire westbound when her vehicle ran off the roadway, overturned and struck several trees.
Marcum was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:50 p.m. by Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn. A passenger in the vehicle, Stanley Harris, 55, of Cape Fair, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Marcum was wearing a safety device, and Harris was not. The vehicle was totaled.
