Bull Blast opens gates Friday

The Cassville Bull Blast will be held Friday at Bill Hailey Arena. Gates open at 6 p.m., with action starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-11 and free for children 5-and-under.

Campers’ Church commences for year

The Barry County Southern Baptist Association began their Sunday worship at Roaring River State Park on April 1, continuing from at 9-9:30 a.m. each Sunday until Sept. 30. The 36 churches in the association lead services with music and a message from the Word of God. Campers’ Church has been held at Roaring River since 1978. Campers come as they are, and anyone is welcome to join. In bad weather, Campers’ Church moves to the basement of the Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center. Fire Ecology Workshop scheduled at Roaring River

A free Fire Ecology Workshop will be held on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Roaring River State Park that will provide educational information on fire science and the historical use of prescribed fire in the Missouri Ozarks. The workshop will be led by land management professionals and fire science researchers and will include indoor presentations and an outdoor field discussion. Lunch will be provided. Land owners and managers and the general public are invited to attend the event, which will touch on the role and ecology of prescribed fire, how plant and animal communities adapt to fire, the impact on wildlife forage and nesting and more related topics. The workshop is hosted by the Oak Woodlands and Forests Fire Consortium and partnering organizations Missouri Department of Conservation, The Nature Conservancy, National Wild Turkey Federation, Mark Twain National Forest, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Cassville Alumni Association Banquet coming in May

On May 26, the Cassville Alumni Association will host its annual banquet at Cassville High School. There will be entertainment, food and a quick program. The business portion of the annual event will include presentation of scholarship awards, election of officers and recognition of classes with special attention to class reunions. Registration will open at 4:30 p.m., with the banquet starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person, which includes dinner, alumni dues and contribution to the Alumni Scholarship Fund. Any classes hosting reunions may contact Desiree Corn at 417-847-3137 to reserve tables.

Eagle Rock hosting 8th Annual Community Garage Sale

The 8th Annual Community Garage Sale in Eagle Rock will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eagle Rock Community Center Barn. Concessions are available, and the event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. For more information, people may call Roberta at 417-671-1669.
