CEF grants awards to Cassville teachers

Four grants totaling $2,450 from the Cassville Education Fund were awarded to Cassville teachers at the annual Cassville Community Teachers Association banquet on Monday, April 23 at Cassville High School.

A grant of $800 was presented to high school teachers Samantha Cosper, John Littlefield, Jimmie Hinson and Marcus Reynolds for a Green Living and Sustainability Project featuring a new composting system.

A grant of $600 was presented to Nola Nickols for pretend play equipment for the Parents as Teachers program. Primary school teacher Mandi Lyall received $600 for alternative, flexible seating for her second-grade classroom.

Teacher Leigh Martin received a grant of $450 for purchasing technology for the seventh- and eighth-grade reading intervention program.

Established in 2010 by community volunteers, the Cassville Education Fund is a permanent endowment fund benefiting Cassville school district's academic programs. Grants from the fund are awarded annually.

Nearly $14,000 in grants has been awarded to Cassville teachers in the past eight years.
