Man allegedly transported victim over state lines
An Arkansas man is facing two felony charges for alleged sexual contact with a child under the age of 16.
Joseph Snow, 24, of Winslow, Ark., is charged with second-degree statutory rape and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Lt. Randy Kalbaugh, the victim's father said Snow and the victim, who is under the age of 16, were involved in a romantic relationship, and the father was putting an end to it.
Per the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Arkansas, a suicide note was found in the victim's residence, which contained Romeo and Juliet comments, and when Snow and the victim were located, a gun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was in Snow's possession.
Snow allegedly admitted to sexual contact with the victim.
Snow is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $40,000. He has been arraigned, and a disposition hearing is scheduled for Feb. 6 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
