Man allegedly abuses child under 10 years of age

A Cassville man has been charged with three felonies for allegedly committing sex acts with a victim less than 10 years of age.

Stephen Hensley, 29, of Cassville, is charged with statutory sodomy, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Danny Boyd, with the Cassville Police Department, on May 26, the victim told a relative Hensley had put his private parts in the child's mouth.

On May 31, the victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Monett, telling the interviewer the sodomy had occurred three times in the back room of the house while the two were there alone.

Hensley is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $100,000. He has been arraigned, and a disposition hearing is scheduled for June 15 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
