Gwendolyn Elizabeth Dupree Woolman, 89, formerly of Shell Knob, passed on Nov. 13, 2016, at her residence in Niceville, Fla.

She was born May 7, 1927, in Spartanburg, S.C., daughter of Jesse Forist and Gladys Dupree who have predeceased her. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Forist Gleaton Dupree, Charles Dupree, Gary Dupree and Mike Dupree.

She grew up in Valdosta, Ga., attended Armstrong Junior College in Savannah, Ga., and she went on to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, where she received her bachelor's degree. In 1951, she joined the Women's Medical Specialist Corps. She married William W. Woolman in 1952. They moved to Shell Knob, 33 years ago. They were members of the Central Community United Methodist Church of Shell Knob.

Survivors include: her son, LTC (Ret) Paul D. Woolman and wife Debbie of Niceville, Fla.; LTC (Ret) Dr. Bruce A. Woolman and wife Debra of Estes Park, Colo.; CPT (USAR) Daniel N. (Danny) Woolman and wife Shanda of Lake Wales, Fla.; step-children, COL (Ret) William W. (Rocky) Woolman of Antlers, Okla.; Patricia A. Brady and husband Dave of Shell Knob; brothers, Ike Dupree and wife Judy of Wake Forest, N.C., Dan Dupree and wife Hoa of Fairborn, Ohio. Sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Woolman Myers of Ada, Okla.; Jaline Dupree of Sumter, S.C.; Margot Dupree of Ormand Beach, Fla., and Becky Dupree of Shell Knob. 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren.

Services were graveside at Watonga IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, Okla., Saturday, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
