Debra Diane "Debbie" Phelps, 59, of Ridgley, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, in her home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Barry County, the daughter of Olen and Gladys (Slagle) Brattin, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one brother, Howard Brattin and one sister, Vinita Smith.

Survivors include: one son, Travis Phelps and his wife, Erin, of Seminole, Fla.; one daughter, Kim Bieber and her husband, Billy, of Mt. Vernon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glen and BJo Phelps, of Wheaton; five brothers, Kenneth Brattin, of Exeter, Ronald R. Brattin, of Greenwood, Lester Brattin and his wife, Shereline, all of Greenwood, Gary Brattin and his wife, Janell, of Exeter, and Mark Brattin and his wife, Robin, of Exeter; two sisters, Olena Harvey and her husband, Tommy, of Hindsville, Ark., and Christine Parks and her husband, Larry, of Pleasant Hill; two sisters-in-law, Faye Brattin, of Holden, and Jill Hudson and her husband, Doug, of Rocky Comfort; and five grandchildren.

She received her education at Wheaton, where she graduated from high school. For several years, she was employed at Fasco and was currently employed at Mercy Hospital, Cassville. She was a member of Ridgley Baptist Church, where services were held Saturday under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Tony Ball and Dale Forgey conducted the services.
