Alumni Association hosts 'Blasts from the Past'

The Cassville High School Alumni Association Banquet will be held on May 24 with a theme of "Blasts from the Past." The program will be provided by seniors Audra Shumaker and Pate Shumaker, and the business portion of the event will include the presentation of scholarship awards, the election of officers and the recognition of classes. Tables at the event will also be decorated with trophies won throughout the years from many competitions, from the Marble Bowl to the present. Registration or the banquet begins at 4:30 p.m., and the banquet itself begins at 6 p.m. The cost is $15 per person, which includes dinner, alumni dues and a contribution to the CHS Alumni Scholarship Fund. Any classes hosting reunions may contact Baker at 417-847-4219 to reserve tables.

Council on Aging seeks board members

The Barry County Council on Aging is seeking people to serve on its Board of Directors. Members of the board are people who are interested in securing solutions to the in-home needs of seniors. The board is active in in-home care, having home workers keep houses clean and safe, including offering a 5-Star Medical Alert system for quick responses to emergencies. Cemetery associations to meet in May

Two cemetery associations will host meeting in May, with the Purdy Cemetery Association meeting at 10 a.m. on May 17, and the Ennis Cemetery Association meeting at 2 p.m. on May 25. The Purdy meeting will be held at the Purdy Community Building on Highway C in Purdy, and the Ennis meeting will be at the cemetery. Emergency Services Board meeting Monday

The Barry County Emergency Services Board will meet on May 19 at 6:30 p.m. to review the RFP's and to move forward with refinancing the rates on the loan. The meeting will be upstairs in the E911 building.

Eagle Rock Homeschool Art program to host show

On May 15, the Eagle Rock Homeschool Art program will come to an end, culminating in an Art Show to be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Eagle Rock Community Center Barn. The homeschool program was held at the library the first and third Thursdays of each month. This program is hosted every other year with support from the Friends of the Library Group and plans for the 2015 session are underway.

Date set for CHS Alumni Banquet

The Cassville High School Alumni Association will host its annual Alumni Banquet on May 24 at 6 p.m. Any classes hosting a reunion in conjunction with the banquet are asked to call Kay Baker, alumni association president, at 417-547-4219.
