Branson man also hospitalized

By Melonie Roberts

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:20 a.m. Thursday on Highway 76, about 1-1/2 miles east of Silver Dollar City.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Patricia A. Herbert, 51, of Aurora, tried to avoid an uninvolved truck that was sliding into the eastbound lane. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Plymouth Neon, driven by Agustin Martinez-Perez, 44, of Branson, head on. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Herbert and Martinez-Juarez were transported to Cox Branson Hospital with moderate injuries.
