KuJay Xiong, 41, of Eau Claire, Wis., passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in OPD Mittaphab Hospital in Vientiane, Laos.

He was born on April 3, 1971, in Phou Vieng, Laos, to father, Yongma Xiong and mother, Youa Moua. He was the youngest of five brothers and one sister: Chongpao, Sher, Ying, Koua and Khou. On Aug. 18, 1991, in Eau Claire, Wis., he was united in marriage to May Thao. They divorced in August 2006. Survivors include: two sons, Kheng, who is living in Minnesota and is employed in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer and attending Century College. Xommvaxai, who is currently deployed in Washington State and active in the U.S. Army as a cavalry scout.

He grew up and received his education in Eau Claire, Wis., graduating from Eau Clair Memorial High School with the Class of 1988. While growing up he continued on his education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and completed his bachelor of science in industrial engineering in 1996. He began his professional career in 1997, in Hutchinson Technology Company as a processor specialist in Eau Claire, where he lived most of his life.

Services will be held from 8 a.m. Friday. Feb. 8 until 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Eau Claire, Wis.
