Charles W. Boyd, 68, of Baxter Springs, Kan., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Freeman Hospital, Joplin.
He was born in Monett, March 18, 1944, the son of William Selah and Faye (Woods) Boyd. He was united in marriage on July 28, 1965, to Shelia Meine, who survives.
Additional survivors include: five sons, Allen Boyd, Billie Boyd and Charlie Boyd, all of Baxter Springs, Kan., Jeffery Horn of Leesville, La., and Tommy Boyd, of Mineral Point; one daughter, Kimberly Vance, of Springfield; three brothers, Robert Boyd, of Purdy, Lonnie Boyd, of Aurora, and Jackie Boyd, of Wheaton; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billie Boyd, one sister, Loretta Clayton and one granddaughter.
He received his education in Butterfield. He was a truck driver for R.T.C. Trucking Company and lived in Arkansas and Springfield, before moving to Baxter Springs, Kan., in 2009. He was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services were held Monday at Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John Duncan conducted the services.
