Junior R.L. Burbridge, 79, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, in his home.

He was born July 24, 1932, in Shell Knob, the son of Vernie R.L. and Arizona (Blythe) Burbridge. On June 18, 1951, in Monett, he was united in marriage to Mahala Owens, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Chris Burbridge and his wife, Tammy, of Cassville; three sisters, Betty Fisher, of Aurora, Eleanor Hansen, of Aurora, and Wanda Cooper, of Pierce City; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Vera.

He received his education at Fairview School at Shell Knob and later received his GED from Cassville. For 18 years, he was employed at the hatchery at Roaring River. Most of his life was spent as a self-employed woodworker. He was a member of Fairview Pentecostal Church.

Graveside services were held Thursday in Fields Cemetery, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services.
