Wanda Bea Swafford-Phillips, 87, of Berryville, Ark., formerly of Cassville, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the Red Rose Health and Rehab in Cassville.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1924, daughter of Tom and Dona (Wise) King in Golden, where she spent her childhood and received her education. She married Jewel Swafford on Aug. 24, 1940, in Carr Lane. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1994. After her marriage she worked as a nurse's aide at South Barry County Hospital in Cassville for 20 years. She then worked for 20 years at Fasco Industries in Cassville. She was of the Assembly of God faith and was well known for her homemade pies.

On Jan. 12, 1998, she married Ollie Phillips in Berryville, Ark.

Survivors include: her husband, Ollie Phillips, of Berryville, Ark.; one son, Roy Thomas Swafford, of Springfield; one daughter, Joyce Hastings, of Cassville; two stepsons, Ricky Phillips, of Berryville, Ark., and Gary Phillips, of Rogers, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Donna Stanfield, of Warrensburg, and Darlene Kelly, of Berryville, Ark.; one brother, TJ King, of Cassville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Jewette Swafford .

Funeral services were held Friday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, with her grandson, Pastor Jeff Hastings officiating. Burial was at the High Cemetery, Berryville, Ark.
