Dorothy Rose "Dottie" Devine, 86, formerly of Shell Knob, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011.

She was born Jan. 16, 1925, in El Dorado, Ark., the daughter of Wilbur and Rose (Moore) Rose. On April 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to John W. Devine, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandra D. "Sandie" Devine-Cauthon and her husband, Dennis, of San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

She graduated high school in Donna, Texas, and then attended two years at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

they moved to Shell Knob in 1967 to make their home. While in Shell Knob, she was a member of the Lil Bit Country Line Dancers, sold Avon for over 20 years and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.

She had lived with her daughter in San Antonio, Texas, since October of 2007.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Rev. Chris Williams will conduct the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shell Knob - Viola Community Building, or the Braille Books for Children, American Brotherhood for the Blind, 1800 Johnson Street, Baltimore, MD 21230-4998.
