John Harm Case, Sr., 63, of Purdy, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

He was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Jackson, Miss., the son of Thomas B. and Lucielle (Brown) Case. On April 15, 1976, in New Orleans, La., he was united in marriage to Dorothy Sanders, who preceded him in death on May 12, 2008. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Paula Cherry; and one sister, Fanny May Case.

He is survived by one son, John Case, Jr., of Purdy; five stepsons, Charles McManus, Kenneth McManus, Bill McManus, David McManus and Daniel McManus; three brothers, Tom "Jack" Case, Jr., Wilburn "Peanut" Case and James Case; five sisters, Edna LaBlanc, Nettie Case, Nellie Stigler, Mary Talcott and Lucy Case; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He grew up and received his elementary education in New Orleans, La. He resided in Houston, Texas, for awhile, moving to Purdy in 1973. He was employed with Fasco Industries in Cassville as a supervisor and also was in the continuing education program there. He was a T.B. survivor.

Funeral services were held today Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Charlie McManus and Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Sparks Cemetery, Butterfield.
