Georgia Odean Brown, 87, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

She was born Sept. 4, 1921, at home in Ridgley, the daughter of George M. and Elsie M. (Thomas) Charles. On Jan. 6, 1940, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Malloy L. Brown, who preceded her in death in April, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Brown, in 2008; two sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include: one son, Donnie Brown and his wife, Pauline, of Exeter; one brother, Bob Charles, of Exeter; two sisters, Barbara Hobbs, of Exeter, and Mary Robinson, of Kansas City; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She received her education in Ridgley. She was a life-long resident of Barry County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Exeter First Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Jerry Yarnall and Rev. Mark Hall conducted the services.
