June E. Walton, 82, of Washburn, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center, Rogers, Ark.

She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Lewis and Opal (White) Messer. In 1965, she was united in marriage to Merle Walton, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob and Jack Messer; and a sister, Gayle Hill.

There are no immediate survivors.

She graduated from high school in El Paso, Texas. She lived several years in San Diego, Calif., then moved to Washburn in 1998 to make her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Washburn First Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark., under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jim Erwin will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
