Wheaton approves summer expenses

The Wheaton R-III School Board approved several additions to the 2008 summer school budget at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 22. Added expenses included: $2,500 for health services; $1,250 for library and media assistance; and $1,250 for open gym supervision.

The board also heard administrative reports by Wheaton Elementary School Principal Eileen Ford, Wheaton Middle and High School Principal Lance Massey and Superintendent Jim Cummins.

Administrative reports included information on sixth grade and high school graduation, senior scholarships, 2008-09 class schedules, the summer maintenance schedule and repairs needed in the elementary restrooms.

In other business, the Wheaton R-III School Board approved an employee health insurance plan for the 2008-09 school year, which will be paid for by the school district.
