William 'Lonnie' Weston, age 83, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008.

He was born June 1, 1924, in Exeter, son of William Kendrick and Frances Elizabeth (Powell) Weston. On May 12, 1945, he married Betty Jean Wakefield, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Claudia Belen Weston, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lana Jean Weston-Feldman and her husband, Richard, of Clinton, Miss.; a brother, Lawrence H. Weston, of Monett; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

He attended Central High School in Monett. He worked on his father's farm until he got a job at Frisco Lines in Missouri. In 1947, he was a construction superintendent for R.E. McKee in El Paso, Texas. He moved to Shell Knob in 1972, to make a home. He had a third career with Fasco Industries in Cassville.

He was a deacon, and Sunday school teacher at the Shell Knob First Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday in First Baptist Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis conducted the services. Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, Monett.
