Elbert Ash, 66, of Eagle Rock, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the North West Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.

He was born on May 19, 1941, in Seligman, son of Walter and Dema (Keeling) Ash. He married Sharon Thompson on June 4, 1973, in Miami, Okla., and she survives.

He served as Roaring River road commissioner for several years and was a past volunteer firefighter for the Eagle Rock, Golden, Mano Fire Department. He was a member of the Carr Lane Southern Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Mark Scott, and his wife, Tina, of Golden, and Shawn Scott, and his wife, Terissa, of Cassville; one brother, Walter Ash, and his wife, Barbara, of Avoca, Ark.; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Ash.

Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at the Munsey Cemetery, west of Eagle Rock, with words of comfort spoken by Marvin Smith.

Arrangements were under the direction of White Funeral Home, Cassville.
