Billy Joe Williams, 67, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born July 30, 1940, in Cassville, the son of "Buss" Earl and Gladys (Gardner) Williams.

He is preceded in death by his father and a brother, Johnny Williams.

Survivors include: a daughter, Nancy Williams, of Purdy; a special friend, Louise Williams, of Purdy; his mother, Gladys Williams, of Washburn; four brothers, Leon Williams, Carl Williams, Jack Williams, all of Washburn, and Jim Williams, of Gateway, Ark.; three sisters, Shirley Dean, of Washburn, Linda Pippin, of Pineville, and Julie of Rogers, Ark.

He received his education in Washburn. His first job was with Jumping Jack Shoe Factory until 1980, then worked in the Oklahoma oil fields for a couple of years. After that he became a contract truck driver until his retirement on Dec. 16, 2005.

Graveside services were held Monday at Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Washburn, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Paid
