Frank Roy Lesher, 85, of Stella, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Neosho. He was born May 27, 1921, to William Franklin Lesher and Susan Harriet (Manges) Lesher near Stratton, Colo.

The family moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area in 1936. He began working for the Long Beach Naval Shipyards. He married Elaine St Onge Aug. 24, 1941, in Gardena, Calif. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Aug. 2, 1944, at Camp Lockett, Calif. Aug. 11, 1944, he went for the South Pacific Theatre as a combat infantryman.

His decorations include: Ribbons- American Theatre, Asiatic Pacific Theatre, with Bronze Service Star. Medals- Victory, Good Conduct and Purple Heart.

Survivors include: his wife, Addie, and her daughter, Dorothy; his son, Larry in Alaska; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren in California; and two brothers, Paul and Loren in Oregon.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Billy Joe Gentry will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Dice Cemetery, Fairview.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday in McQueen Funeral Home.
