Charles William Hilburn, 68, of Seligman, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Northwest Medical Center of Washington County, Springdale, Ark.

He was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Butterfield, the son of William Harvey and Lona (Richardson) Hilburn. On Oct. 16, 1984, he was united in marriage to Betty Hutchinson, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Tony Hilburn, Donnie Hilburn and Tim Hilburn, all of Salem, Ore.; two stepsons, Steve Hunter and his wife, Polly, of Cassville, and Andy Hunter and his wife, Donna of Seligman; four stepdaughters, Terry Coolidge and her husband, Frank, of Shell Knob, Sandra McKown, of Muskogee, Okla., Linda Ashley and her husband, Jeff, of Salem, Ore., and Deanna Hilburn and her husband, Tom Tilford, of Seligman; seven brothers, James, Clyde, Ralph, Wayne, John, Harvey and Jerry Hilburn; four sisters, Helen Staponski, Ruth Lakey, Rhoda Balch and Linda Coones; 20 grandchildren; and 47 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rick Hilburn; two great granddaughters, and one great grandson.

He received his education in Butterfield. He worked several years in Oregon for the Oregon State Road District as a flagman. Charles was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cassville.

Graveside services were held Saturday, at Russell Cemetery, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
