Marolyn I. Shunterman, 96, of Granby, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006, in the Granby House.

She was born in Fredonia, Kan., March 17, 1910, the daughter of William John and Martha (Dewitt) Slater. On Aug. 24, 1951, in Springdale, Ark., she was united in marriage to Harry R. Shunterman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one son, Larry Seifert and his wife, Louanna, of Granby; one brother Ed Slater, of Kent, Wash.; two sisters, Ike Thurston, of Fredonia, Kan., and Betty LeForgee, of Shell Knob; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren.

She received her education in Fredonia, Kan. She was a dental tech and homemaker. After moving to Barry County, she was a substitute teacher in Cassville. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Wichita, Kan. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.

No services are planned. Her body has been cremated under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
