More than 200 vehicles are expected to make the nine-mile trek from Cassville High School to Roaring River State Park, which marks the start of the 20th annual Dogwood Car and Truck Festival, which will be held this Saturday, April 15.

Registration for the event will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the high school. The parade when registration concludes. Automobiles, trucks and motorcycles will be on display at Roaring River State Park throughout the morning and afternoon. Judging should end at around 2:30 p.m. at which time awards will be presented.

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event, will award the "Dogwood Dozen."

In addition, there will be five dignitary award plaques handed out, as well as $25 cash awards for the Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Paint, Furtherest Driven and Furtherest Trailered. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the club with the most participation in the show, and the prestigious Showstopper Award, sponsored by Baywash I and Baywash 11 car washes, will also be presented.

The first 200 entries will receive a goody bag. Entertainment will include music and games led by "The Right Sound," sponsored by Les Jacobs Ford-Mercury, Inc. Food concessions will be provided by the Chamber.

Edward Jones will sponsor several games for youth under 16 with gift certificates awarded to the winners.

There is no admission fee charged for the Dogwood Car and Truck Festival, and all area residents are encouraged to come down to Roaring River State Park to view the vehicles and join the fun.

Anyone interested in entering the car show can obtain a registration form from the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce until April 14. Forms may also be requested by phone at 847-2814 or by fax at 847-0804. The registration fee is $20 per vehicle. Contestants will also be allowed to register at the high school on Saturday.
