Charles Edmond Swaffer, 72, of Wichita, Kan., passed away Friday, March 31, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

He was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Barry County. He married Sarah Mitchel on Oct. 14, 1989, and she survives. He was a truck driver for a moving company.

Additional survivors include: one son, frankie dean Swaffer, of Garland, Texas; two daughters, Brenda Blick and Carol Ann Woods, both of Wichita; two brothers, Samuel Eugene Swaffer, of Springfield, Ohio, and Billy David Swaffer, of Haysville, Kan.; five sisters, Georgie Mae Austin, of Holiday, Tenn., Betty Lou Wormington, of Monett, Virginia Louise Stephens, of Cassville, Ruth Ann Martin, of Pine Ridge, Ark., and Bertie Martin, of Haysville, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral sevices were held Monday, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett with Rev. Mike Leichner officiating. Burial was in Arnhart Cemetery at Purdy.
