Ozark man dies in bike wreck
Driver succumbs to injuries at Springfield hospital
An Ozark man died on Saturday following a wreck at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 76, two miles north of Shell Knob.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, John Daugherty, 48, of Ozark, was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson eastbound when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a sign.
Daugherty was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and he was pronounced dead at 4:04 p.m. by Dr. Bradley Schuesler.
Daugherty was wearing a safety device, and the Harley sustained extensive damage.
This is the 30th fatal crash of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
