Pinwheels spin for awareness

Wednesday, April 27, 2022
The General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) Silver Leaf Benefit Club members planted pinwheels for prevention to raise awareness of child abuse. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels symbolize the notion of playfulness, joy and childhood. A report of child abuse is made every 10 minutes in the United States, and the GFWC partners with Missouri Kids First to raise awareness of the importance of community-based support for all children and their families. Every adult is essential to creating  a better tomorrow for all children. The GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Silver Leaf members standing for children are Tracie Snodgrass, President Jean Marney and Diane Craig. Reporting child abuse is everyone’s responsibility.
