Fundraising efforts continue for Development Center
Organization to host Trivia Night
The Barry-Lawrence Development Center will host a Trivia Night starting at 6 p.m. on April 29 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett.
Cost will be $125 per table, up to eight people or $20 per person.
Register early by Friday, and mulligans are half price at $5. Mulligans will be available to purchase the night of the event at a cost of $10.
Food and drink will be provided.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the organization’s building campaign, and ongoing construction costs at the new location at Chapell Drive and Park Street in Monett.
“We don’t have enough to finish the interior of the building,” said Lynda Painter, director. “We still need to raise between $150,000 and $200,000 for the therapy rooms, the storm shelter/sensory room, furnishings and landscaping.”
Painter said the organization has had some donations for the kitchen area, and toys for the sensory room.
Work continues, weather permitting, on the footings and plumbing portions of the project.
The naming rights campaign is another way for parties to make donations for the completion of the center. Three of the therapy rooms have yet to be named and up for grabs. Those wishing to request information about the naming rights campaign may call Painter at 417-235-9803.
