Wendell Harold “Winkie” Shepard
Wendell Harold “Winkie” Shepard, 73, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Branson, the son of Wilber and Alice (Pride) Shepard. On April 14, 1984, in Aurora, he was united in marriage to his wife Ruth Nicholls, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Coby Shepard and his husband Todd McIntyre of Tampa, Fla., and Scott Shepard and his wife Tabitha of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Shelia Campbell and her husband Lester of Crane; two brothers, Ronnie Shepard of Shell Knob, and Tommy Shepard of Golden; four sisters Wanda Corning of Marshall, Ark., Carol Greenhaw of Oklahoma and Tina DeLong of Lampe; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Will, Dale and David and one sister Virginia.
He grew up and received his education in Branson, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army two years in Vietnam.
He owned and operated Shepard’s Garage in Aurora.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
