All changes are posted at Wheaton City Hall

On the agenda for the November Wheaton City Council meeting, under new business, there was a list of nine city ordinances to be updated.

JoGina Park, Wheaton city clerk, said over the summer, the city of Wheaton changed the city attorney.

“We were trying to update the wording,” she said. “Some of the city ordinances could be found online and some were in the books. While updating them, we are putting all of the ordinances in both places.”

In addition to the nine, there will be six more on next month’s agenda.

“[There] could possibly be a few more if the attorney’s office sees anything else that they want the council to look at to see if they want to update,” she said. “We found that some of the ordinances were outdated and hadn’t been updated when state laws were updated, for example the sale of tobacco when the age limit changed.”

Park said all changes or updates to city ordinances will be posted at City Hall.
